What is Avanti? An honest intro to the practice.
If you run a small business in Columbus and you've heard the words "AI" and "automation" until they've stopped meaning anything. Start here. This is what Avanti actually does, who it's for, and why the math works.
You've probably been pitched something AI-related in the last six months. A new app. A "platform." A subscription that promises to do everything and replaces nobody. You signed up for the free trial, you forgot about it, and a charge showed up two months later that you forgot to cancel.
That experience is a big part of why I started Avanti. Most small business owners don't need another tool. They need somebody to figure out where their week is leaking and to build a system that plugs the leak with what they already have. That's the whole job.
What Avanti is
Avanti is a one-person AI and automation consulting practice based in Columbus, Ohio. We work exclusively with local small business owners. Home services companies, auto-adjacent businesses, studios, food and beverage, retail, professional services, anyone running an operation between roughly $200K and $2M in revenue.
Our job is to find the hours that are getting eaten by repetitive work. Chasing reviews, sending appointment reminders, replying to leads, drafting social posts, writing the same five emails over and over. And to build systems that take those hours back. We use tools you already have when we can, help you select the right ones when you don't, and keep ongoing software costs as low as possible. Then we hand the whole thing off to you cleanly.
That's the entire scope. We build practical AI and automation systems for one local business at a time, and we hand them off cleanly so you can run them yourself when you're ready.
What Avanti isn't
A few things we're explicitly not:
- Not a traditional agency. No retainers required, no account managers, no five-figure proposals. Every engagement is a fixed fee, anchored to the value it delivers.
- No proprietary lock-in. Avanti has no platform you have to subscribe to. We build inside tools that fit your business and stay with you, and keep ongoing software costs as low as possible.
- Not for everyone. If your business is fully digital, fully systematized, and you have a tech team. You don't need us. We're built for owners who are too busy doing the work to set up the systems.
How the math actually works
Every Avanti engagement is priced against a single number. How many hours per week the system will save you. We assume your time is worth $50 an hour as a flat starting point. That makes the math honest and easy.
Hours saved per week × $50 × 4 weeks = monthly value. Your fee is two or three times that monthly value, paid once.
For example: if a system gives you back five hours a week, that's worth $1,000 a month. Your fee is $2,000 (Founding Customer rate) or $3,000 (Standard). It pays itself back in two to three months. After that, every hour the system saves you is profit.
Three things are non-negotiable about pricing:
- Fixed fee. Quoted before we start. Never goes up.
- No contracts. One project, one payment.
- Money-back guarantee. If you don't find real value in what we build, you get refunded. Full stop.
What you actually get
Most clients come to us with one of six pain points. We've built repeatable systems for each of them:
- Reviews and reputation. Automated review request texts after every job, a library of AI-drafted response templates for every star rating, and a system that compounds your Google presence.
- Lead response and follow-up. Instant auto-replies to every new inquiry within 60 seconds. Multi-touch follow-up so warm leads don't go cold.
- Appointment reminders. A 3-text sequence at 48 hours, 24 hours, and 2 hours out. With confirm and reschedule built in.
- Social media content. 30 days of posts in your voice every month, scheduled automatically.
- Operations and admin. SOPs, training docs, vendor scripts, the workflow systems that let your business run without you in every detail.
- AI training and adoption. You and your team learn how to use AI on the work you actually do, with a custom prompt library you keep forever.
Most clients pick two or three. Bundle discounts apply. The point is. We're not building you a custom solution to a problem you don't have. We're picking from a tested toolkit and tuning it to your business.
Why local-only
Avanti only works with businesses in the Columbus metro area. That's a deliberate choice.
The work is better when I can sit at your counter and look at your business in person. The discovery call is more honest when it's face to face. The training session. Where I sit down with your laptop and use AI on your real reviews and your real customers. Only works in the same room.
Columbus is also where I'm choosing to build my career. I'm relocating from Denver in July 2026 and putting down roots here. The businesses that hire Avanti early are getting somebody who's investing in this city long-term, not a remote consultant who'll disappear when the next thing happens.
How to know if Avanti is for you
Avanti is probably a good fit if you:
- Run a small business in the Columbus metro
- Are doing work yourself that you know shouldn't be your job
- Have basic tools you already pay for (Google, Calendly, Mailchimp, etc.) but aren't using them well
- Want to spend less time on follow-ups, reviews, content, and admin
- Are comfortable being told the truth about what's broken
Avanti is probably not a fit if you:
- Want somebody to do your marketing for you indefinitely without ever wanting to take any of it in-house
- Aren't willing to learn the basics of how AI works
- Are looking for the cheapest possible quote rather than the right system for your business
